This 26,000 square foot interior and exterior remodel and expansion of the emergency department and level II trauma center at St. Joseph Regional Health Center increases the hospital’s ability to serve its patient community, which originates from eleven surrounding counties in Central Texas. The program of the emergency department and trauma center includes two trauma rooms, general radiology and CT scan capability, plus thirty-four treatment rooms, including three triage rooms, six first response treatment rooms and six behavioral health treatment rooms. Six ambulance bays and a helipad enhance response capability.
