To help strengthen the connection between the North Las Vegas Police Department (NLVPD) and its surrounding community of North Las Vegas, the North Las Vegas North Central Area Command was established. Building upon the prototype that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) has used throughout the Las Vegas valley, NLVPD was able to adapt the design to their specific needs. The site is designed with well-defined public access through the parking area to the public entrance with secure access for department staff and officers. Along with modifications to the plan, a mechanical shop was also added. The exterior of the area command is designed to aesthetically blend in with the surrounding desert landscape and the neighboring communities through the use of materials and colors.
