The Hollywood Area Command was a needed addition to the Hollywood area in East Las Vegas. This new addition, decreasing the distance between existing substations, will strengthen the relationship between the community and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. The substation design is the product of multiple iterations — starting from a prototype — that has developed over many years and has been constructed throughout the Las Vegas valley. The Hollywood Area Command is in a growing part of the valley, located on Hollywood Boulevard near Sahara Avenue and Charleston Boulevard. The site is designed with both public and private access, from the parking areas to the entrances into the building. The exterior of the substations is designed to blend in with the surrounding desert as well as the Hollywood community through materials and color.
