Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain

Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain

Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain is located on 35 acres near the entrance to Red Rock Canyon National Recreation Area. The campus setting is a student-friendly cluster of four buildings: Lower School, Middle School, Shared Spaces Building and Gymnasium. Each building is inspired by natural forms and carefully scaled to nurture the students who will use the facilities. Classrooms feature soaring ceilings and large windows with views out to learning gardens. The landscape of the campus acts as a series of outdoor educational areas. The site is divided conceptually into the four desert regions: the Great Basin, Chihuahuan, Mojave and Sonoran Deserts, each featuring landscape that reflects the climate of that unique desert environment.
